![]() ![]() How would I approach setting up 2-3 rooms in an apartment, are there any gotchas?ģ) I'm not sure I fully understand Moca filters. If I'm understanding correctly the moca filter has to be installed outside the apt rather than inside right? If not, is there a loss of signal strength by running multiple filters (one at each outlet)?Ģ) Almost all MOCA setup videos I've watched are in homes or they set it up for a single room. I happen to have a single coax outlet in almost every room so I'm now exploring that possibility.ġ) Whats the 'best' way to check the cable signal quality? I could have a tech come out but that'll likely run me at least $100, idk if they'll charge me for additional work like reconnecting dead coax outlets or adding filters (do I buy one and give it to them?). I was initially looking into buying Unifi's mesh unit to add to my existing AP Pro however I recently learned that Moca adapters were a thing. I have gig internet (for now), no cable TV, and a wifi dead zone I'm trying to correct. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
